On June 29, I took part in the Madde-1: MDF hands-on workshop held at the Kastamonu Entegre Concept Studio, in collaboration with the Turkish Design Foundation.
During this session, we explored sustainable design approaches using MDF—an engineered wood material derived from compressed wood fibers. The workshop offered valuable insights into both the material’s technical properties and its design applications, particularly within modular systems.
As part of the application phase, we reviewed four modular side table prototypes designed by participants, discussing material behavior, modularity, and spatial integration from a holistic design perspective.
It was an inspiring experience where practice met knowledge, and I’m thankful to all participants, the Turkish Design Foundation, and the Kastamonu Entegre team for organizing such an engaging event.
